Urdu Language having traditions of 800 hundred Years

Urdu literature, be it prose or poetry, has never been short in great names ever ready to produce literary marvels that shape up the diverse and rich structure of resulting literature. All through its literary history, poets and prose writers of great skills and stature have kept feeding necessary elements to keep the flame ablaze till date.
The history of noteworthy prose writers date back to late 17th and early 18th century with the likes of Abru (1683-1734), Abdul Qadir (1753-1814), and Nazir Akbarabadi (1735-1830) to the contemporary writers like Saadat Hassan Manto, Ashfaq Ahmad, and Bano Qudsiya to name a few.
Well, to be honest, this list of contemporary Urdu prose writers seems quite incomplete and insignificant without mentioning the name of Mumtaz Mufti (September 11, 1905 – October 27, 1995). He was born to a couple abode in Batala, Punjab (now part of India) in early 20th century, Mufti Muhammad Hussain being his father and Sughra Khannum as mother.

Sir Syed Ahmed Khan (October 17, 1817 – March 27, 1898) was a great politician, educator, modernist and Islamic reformer in the Indo - Pak subcontinent. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was the pioneer of the Modern Education in Muslim community of Indo - Pak subcontinent. He founded Muhammedan Anglo-Oriental College, which was later changed to Aligarh Muslim University. His work gave awareness to the Muslims which gave rise to Politian and every intellectual Muslim who composed Aligarh movement to secure the future of Muslim’s Political future in India.

Allama Iqbal work was greatly focused on the rectification of Muslim Ummah and revival of Islam in the subcontinent. After becoming the President of All India Muslim League in 1930, he for the first time suggested that Muslims of the subcontinent should have separate state of their own. Iqbal also gave awareness to the Muslims through its Urdu Poetry. His delivered his messages of awareness in such an impressive manner that a wide number of people changed their view and became in the favor of new state for the Muslims of subcontinent.

Meray Khawab Raiza Raiza is the Urdu story of a very beautiful girl, Zainab. Zainab was very aware of her beauty and was very proud of it. Her father had died at a very young age. Zainab’s mother raised her with utmost effort but she could not help the poverty they were forced to live in. nevertheless she was a very content woman and taught the same values to Zainab. However, Zainab wanted to be rich.
