Urdu Language having traditions of 800 hundred Years

Bangalore: Urdu, as one of the most poetic languages has widened its reach across the world. Although, it holds in itself a repository of the cultural and social heritage, one cannot deny the fact that the present generation is leaving Urdu far behind. A number of distinguished scholars, writers, journalists and other intellectuals from across the country will be addressing this dilemma in the World Urdu conference in Bangalore.

World Urdu conference and World Urdu Mushaira will be held on 29th and 30th of December. Intellectuals from countries like USA, UK, Canada, Pakistan and Bangladesh are expected to attend the conference. Members in the conference will try to put together a list of guiding principles that would be implemented to promote and protect the language and its heritage.

The conference is scheduled to begin at 10.30 am at 'The Capitol Hotel', Raj Bhavan Road, Bangalore. The Governor of Karnataka Mr. H R Bharadwaj will inaugurate the function, while Dharam Singh, MP and former Chief Minister of Karnataka will preside over the function. Mr. Gopi Chand Narang, Former Chairman, Sahitya Academy, will deliver the keynote address and thereafter papers on the theme of the Conference will be presented. Moulana Mufti Mohammed Ashraf Ali Baqavi, Ameer-e-Shariat, Karnataka and Dr. K. Rahman Khan, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha will be the Chief Guests.
